Why pretend play is real learning

When a two-year-old "cooks" dinner, they are rehearsing sequences, practising language, imitating the adults they love and learning to care for others. Montessori calls this practical life, and it is one of the most important kinds of play there is. Role play toys give that instinct real tools: things that look and work like the real thing, sized for small hands.

Our role play toys
